OPINION: WHEN DR SUDHIR RUPARELIA BUYS FROM LOCAL COMPANIES, HE SUPPORTS OUR JOB MARKET.

By Ben Ssebuguzi

It is true that Private sector is the primary engine of job creation, productivity, innovation and economic transformation.

However, it is also important to recognise that there are some in private sector who expand productivity and those who drain the economy through imports business.

Dr Sudhir Rupaleria is a one transformative investor who builds our country's competitiveness through supporting local companies for his constant projects such as real estate, education, hospitality, finance, agriculture among others hence causing a ripple effect on job market.

The other day when I passed by his Kabira country club expansion project,he was making finishings, using wall tiles from our local companies, where others sometimes use imported aluminium.

The President of Uganda,Gen Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museven has been very pragmatic against depending on imports because they take away our jobs." I no longer put on imported clothes",he boastfully said.He actually calls imports as HEMORRHAGE.

In this context,Dr Sudhir Rupaleria innovativeness and many others of his calibre are contributing to our job security in the country.

A case in point , when he contracts firms or he buys building materials let's say; iron bars from Roofings or Steel and Tube,he is supporting productivity of the economy hence more jobs are retained and new ones created, therefore also contributing to our national treasury.

That's why when investors enter public offices, they should be treated with dignity because they are the bosses of our economy.

Long live General Yoweri Kaguta Museven,Long live Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo SPA/PA and manager ONC
