KAZO DISTRICT RECEIVES 80,000 COFFEE SEEDLINGS LOBBIED BY HON. MOLLY NAWE KAMUKAMA.

Today, Kazo District has received 80,000 coffee seedlings as a donation from State House Uganda, lobbied by the Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Molly Nawe Kamukama.

The seedlings, which arrived this morning in Kazo are part of Hon. Molly’s strategic intervention to transform ordinary people of Kazo from subsistence to commercial agriculture and to strengthen household incomes. Since it’s a rainy season, its necessary for farmers to plant coffee seedlings. 

 

According to Hon Molly’s plan, the 80,000 coffee seedlings will be distributed across the 4 Sub-counties of Kazo District as other sub counties awaits for the next phase of coffee seedlings distribution. The four sub counties to receive Molly’s coffee seedlings are;

1. Engari Sub-county

2. Kanoni Sub-county

3. Kazo Sub-county

4. Kazo Town Council

 

Hon. Molly has further pledged to lobby for 1 Million coffee seedlings by close of next year, 2027, to ensure every willing household in Kazo District becomes a coffee farming household.

Currently, Kazo District is among the districts in Uganda engaging in coffee plantation at a higher rate. It is recorded that coffee farming is in every village in Kazo despite Kazo being a cattle keepers community.

 

This initiative, alongside the two hand tractors already lobbied the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP), is aimed at enhancing productivity, reducing labour, and creating wealth that lasts for generations.

As a true Musevenist, Hon Molly Kamukama is trying to fight what President Museveni regularly calls “Okukorera enda yoonka” the subsistence farming that keeps many families outside money economy.

Hon Molly Kamukama believes that coffee farming is the best retirement project because you plant once and you harvest 50yrs. Coffee farming is thr project that can educate your children and grand children.

Therefore, Hon Molly’s 80,000 coffee seedlings distribution is a direct implementation of President Museveni’s gospel on family income.

 

On her X page formally know as Twitter, Hon Molly Kamukama said “I am glad to have lobbied for and secured 80,000 coffee seedlings from the Office of the President for the people of Kazo.  

I thank H.E. @KagutaMuseveni for this support, State House Comptroller Ms. @JaneBarekye for presiding over the event, and Rt. Hon. @Thomas_Tayebwa for championing this cause.  

I remain committed to advocating for initiatives that boost household incomes, fight poverty and improve livelihoods in Kazo”. 

 

One of the natives of Kazo called Asiimwe Robert thanked Hon Molly by saying “Special appreciation to Hon. Molly Nawe Kamukama, Woman Member of Parliament for Kazo District, for lobbying 80,000 coffee seedlings and two hand tractors to empower our farmers and strengthen household incomes.

Your leadership demonstrates that true representation is not about making promises, but delivering opportunities that transform lives. You are planting seeds of prosperity, empowering farmers, and laying a foundation for a wealthier Kazo”.

 

A Youth from Engari Sub County thanked Hon. Molly for remembering youth and considering them. “ As youth of Kazo, you didn’t give us alcohol or empty promises. You have given us better future. We are going to plant these coffee seedlings and we shall be rich in future. God bless you Hon Molly”.
